Amazon Prime Video has received an influx of attention due to the premiere of the famously expensive and anticipated series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, which premiered exclusively on the streaming platform in September 2022. Based on J.R.R. Tolkien's lore, it is one of the most ambitious and intricate series to ever be filmed for television, breaking Amazon's viewership record with 25 million viewers during its premiere.
While The Rings of Power is set to continue into October 2022, next month will also bring new and exciting TV series to Amazon Prime. Aligning with the season, the streaming platform will bring out some spooky titles, which we are excited for. Here are the best TV series coming to Amazon Prime Video in October 2022.
Reginald the Vampire is an upcoming series, arriving just in time for the 2022 spooky season. The series has been billed as a horror-comedy and features Jacob Batalon, from the MCU's Spider-Man franchise, in the leading role. Per TOR, the series focuses on a world that is populated by extremely beautiful vampires. Reginald is presented as an unlikely hero who must battle against other vampires, and we are excited to see how the series develops. Reginald the Vampire will premiere on October 5.
The Rings of Power premiered in September 2022, however, will continue to release weekly episodes throughout October 2022, starting October 7. It has been one of the most anticipated series of the year, without a doubt, on any streaming platform. Serving as a prequel to the beloved Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit movie franchises, The Rings of Power takes us to the Second Age of Middle-earth and focuses on the creation of the Great Rings and the One Ring.

High School is a series that is based on the autobiographical book by popular musical artists Tegan and Sara, and focuses on their upbringing and experiences growing up in high school. The series features Amanda Fix, Dom Bergeron, C.J. Valleroy, and Cobie Smulders. Not much is known about the plot, but it’s certain to be an interesting new TV series, especially in the hands of Clea Duvall, who directed Amazon's 2020 Christmas movie Happiest Season. High School is set to premiere on October 14.
Modern Love Tokyo is a remake of the American series, also on Amazon, Modern Love. Just like the American version, Modern Love Tokyo will explore different forms of love — romantic, familial, platonic, and self-love — across eight half-hour episodes. Distinctly, the Japanese version will also include an anime episode, directed by Naoko Yamada. You can catch Modern Love Tokyo on Amazon Prime, beginning October 21.
The Peripheral is an upcoming science fiction series created by Scott Smith, and is based on the 2014 book of the same name by William Gibson. Produced by Westworld creators Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, the series stars Chloë Grace Moretz in a leading role. According to Deadline, Moretz will play Flynne Fisher, "a woman trying to hold together the pieces of her family in a forgotten corner of tomorrow's America." It is set to premiere on October 21.

The Devil’s Hour is set to premiere on October 28. Created by Tom Moran, the series stars Jessica Raine as Lucy Chambers and Peter Capaldi as Gideon. Lucy is woken at exactly 3:33AM every night by terrifying visions, during which dark occurrences take place around her.
